Hi everyone!
My name is DJ Bazemore I grew up in the small town of Eure, NC attending Cool Spring Baptist Church. I went to a Christian summer camp one summer and felt like the speakers spoke directly to me. After the service, I shared with my camp counselor how I felt, and he let me know that I was feeling the Holy Spirit. I accepted Jesus that night; it was my life’s best decision after I attended the University of Mount Olive studying Health and Physical Education. As the Lord would have it, after graduating I came across a job opening for a middle school P.E.teacher in Northumberland County; the very area where my wife grew up. Not long after accepting the position and moving to the Northern Neck, I was invited to the local Young Life banquet where I was first introduced to the ministry. While my job was to teach P.E. I realized I was more passionate about Jesus Christ. My wife and I began volunteering with YL and a year later I began working for YL part-time. I wanted these kids to know Jesus and that the things of this world pass away, but eternal life is forever. My wife and I have recently welcomed our first baby to the family, and I am excited to see all that the Lord has in store for us as he knits our family into this community, now as a full-time Young Life staff member.
